Ten years of trials and tribulations, five years of community spirit—Side notes on the "Professionalism, Respect for Law, Justice, Dedication" Achievement Report Reception.
At around 9 a.m. on May 23, the sky cleared after days of heavy rain, and the long-awaited sun broke through with a smile. Lawyers and staff of Zhiming Law Firm, brimming with joy, arrived one after another at the Pavilion Hotel to welcome the guests. The Jinxiu Hall on the third floor was resplendent and filled with festive cheer. In the spacious and brightly lit banquet hall, 20 large round tables were neatly arranged. On the backdrop standing at the main stage, two lines of large characters read “Professionalism, Upholding the Law, Justice, Dedication” and “Achievement Report Reception,” displaying the theme of the celebration. At the lower part of the backdrop, large red flowers clustered around the words “Guangdong Zhiming Law Firm” and “2000.5——2010.5,” adding a rich festive atmosphere. The couplet on either side of the backdrop—“Five years of dedication to advancing the rule of law and community harmony; Ten years of professionalism and upholding the law leading Zhiming forward”—proclaimed the journey of Zhiming’s growth.
At around 10 a.m., smiling guests arrived one after another, bringing friendship and blessings. Among them were Mr. Hu Keshun, a leader from the Guangdong Provincial Department of Justice in Guangzhou; Mr. Tan Zheng, Deputy Director of the Lawyer Management Division of the Department of Justice; Mr. Chen Xikang, Vice President of the Guangdong Lawyers Association; Mr. Zhong Xiaoyu, Vice Chairman of the Shenzhen Municipal CPPCC and Deputy Director of the Shenzhen Municipal Justice Bureau; Mr. Zhang Xiaomin, Vice Chairman of the Shenzhen Municipal CPPCC; Ms. Jin Yili, Member of the Standing Committee of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Congress; Mr. Zhang Bigong, President of Shenzhen University; Mr. Yang Shaobin, Deputy Director of the Lawyer Management Division of the Shenzhen Municipal Justice Bureau; Mr. Chen Jiaman, Deputy Director of the same division; Ms. Wang Lina, Vice President of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association; Mr. Zhang Yong, Party Secretary of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association; Mr. Zhao Shikuan, Director of the Yantian District Emergency Command Center (Petition Office); Mr. Diao Pizhe, Deputy Director of the Yantian District Justice Bureau; Mr. Huang Yizhen, Director of the Yantian Subdistrict Justice Office, and other leaders at various levels and individuals from all walks of life. At around noon, more than 200 guests and colleagues of the firm gathered together. As the host made the announcement, the celebratory report meeting began amid colorful fireworks. Immediately afterward, the lights dimmed, and large screens on both sides above the stage simultaneously played a retrospective video of Zhiming's ten years. With vivid and detailed images and measured, powerful narration, the video brought people back to the journey of Zhiming's growth since its establishment—moving forward through hardships and striving relentlessly—and vividly demonstrated the firm belief of Zhiming lawyers: “Professionalism, Respect for Law, Justice, Dedication.” When the video ended, the lights came back on. Amid warm applause, Lawyer Wang Tengfeng, Director of Zhiming Law Firm, took the stage to deliver a keynote report titled “Ten Years of Zhiming, Moving Forward Through Hardships.” In his report, Director Wang summarized Zhiming's ten years of entrepreneurial beginnings, growth and development, business achievements, and theoretical results. Over the past decade, Zhiming Law Firm grew from an initial three people to more than 70 today, handling over 5,000 cases of various types, including 260 criminal cases, 1,160 civil cases, 370 economic cases, 155 foreign-related cases, 18 administrative cases, and more than 600 non-litigation matters, reducing economic losses for clients by more than one billion RMB. Over the past ten years, Zhiming Law Firm also trained more than 100 legal professionals for society, wrote and published nearly 100 professional papers and articles, served as expert guests on television, newspapers, and other media, commented on social hot topics, and published more than 600 legal articles (instances), accepted invitations from national, provincial, and municipal units to give more than 50 special lectures (instances), and provided more than 200 legal publicity lectures (instances) for various government agencies, enterprises, and institutions. Through ten years of highly effective efforts, Zhiming lawyers won praise from the government and all sectors of society. The firm was successively rated by the Shenzhen Municipal Government as a “Qualified Unit for Standardized Construction of Law Firms” and an “Advanced Unit for Law into the Community.” It also received the title of “National Volunteer Law Firm for Environmental Rights Protection” awarded by the All-China Environment Federation and was commended by the Shenzhen Consumer Council as an “Outstanding Law Firm for Consumer Rights Protection in Shenzhen,” among other honors. In his report, Director Wang also specifically introduced Zhiming Law Firm's participation since May 2006 in the “Law into the Community” activity in Yantian Subdistrict, Yantian District. The firm persisted without interruption for five years, voluntarily held 30 legal publicity lectures, established six legal publicity bulletin boards, published 14 issues of legal publicity display boards, provided free legal consultations to residents more than 2,000 times, distributed 20,000 copies of legal publicity materials, mediated 6 civil disputes, and handled 2 legal aid cases, playing a positive role in meeting the legal needs of community residents, improving the public's legal literacy, and advancing law-based community governance.

Zhiming's growth over ten years would not have been possible without the unity and hard work of all lawyers and partners. Vice Presidents Chen Xikang and Wang Lina took the stage one after another to deliver speeches, extending warm congratulations to Zhiming Law Firm on its tenth anniversary on behalf of the provincial and municipal lawyers associations respectively. They highly affirmed the firm’s achievements in participating in the “Law into Communities” program and expressed the hope that the firm would continue its efforts and make steady progress. Mr. Zhao Shikuan, who was recently promoted to Director of the Yantian District Emergency Command Center (Petition Office) and formerly served as Deputy Director of the Yantian District Justice Bureau, was a witness to and mentor for Zhiming Law Firm’s participation in the “Law into Communities” program. Despite his busy schedule, he attended Zhiming’s tenth anniversary celebration and took the stage to speak. He fondly recalled outstanding examples of Zhiming lawyers serving the community, highly praised their spirit of dedication, and on the spot presented Zhiming Law Firm with a large trophy inscribed with the words “Dedication earns respect, service expands the market.” Next, Deputy Director Diao Pizhe of the Yantian District Justice Bureau took the stage to present a plaque inscribed with “Persisting in bringing law into communities with selfless dedication, serving the masses and promoting harmony with admirable spirit.” Director Huang Yizhen of the Yantian Subdistrict Justice Office took the stage to present a banner inscribed with “Upholding the dignity of law, promoting social harmony.” In on-site interviews with the host, both leaders unanimously praised the invaluable spirit of Zhiming lawyers in selflessly serving community residents. Director Wang and Attorney Li Zhiyong, a representative who has participated in the “Law into Communities” program for five consecutive years, took the stage to receive the gifts and expressed sincere gratitude for the support and care shown by leaders at all levels toward Zhiming Law Firm, pledging not to disappoint everyone’s expectations and to better serve society and the people in the future.

As the melodious strains of "Sleepless Tonight" filled the air, Director Wang Tengfeng announced the start of the reception. Throughout the event, hosts and guests raised their glasses frequently, conveying mutual wishes and respect, and exchanging sentiments of friendship and support.
