Journey to Hainan (I)

After work on December 6th, filled with excitement, we embarked on our trip to Sanya, Hainan. Lugging our luggage, we went through airport security and boarded the flight to Haikou. We arrived at the hotel at 11:30 PM, quickly washed up and rested, ready for the next day's Haikou tour. The following morning, after breakfast at 7 AM, we set off from the hotel. Due to the long drive, we made a brief stop. As soon as we stepped off the bus, the scorching sun showed its blazing power—truly roasting. It must have been at least 34 or 35 degrees Celsius, but luckily there was a breeze, offering a hint of coolness in the heat. With the guide's vivid narration, we arrived at our first scenic spot—Bo'ao Yudai Beach. We weren't familiar with Yudai Beach, but the name Bo'ao was thunderously famous, as it's the venue for the Asian Economic Forum. After taking a few photos in front of the emblem, we hurried to the beach, as the magnificent sea was already beckoning us.

Yudai Beach is the smallest sandbar separating the sea from the river. Not only is the color of the sand like a jade belt, but the white waves crashing onto the beach also resemble a jade belt. To our left is the surging sea, while to our right is the calm and graceful Wanquan River. As soon as we stepped onto the beach, someone came carrying a sea turtle to sell, offering us the chance to hold it for photos at 5 yuan, no matter how many pictures we took.

After taking a few photos with the sea turtle, walking on the sand felt truly comfortable. The waves surged up and receded in a rhythmic pattern. My colleagues played freely on the beach, striking various poses for photos. One photo captured only the sand, without a trace of the sea, looking like a sand dune. As we had such close contact with the beach, I seemed to feel the vast openness of the grasslands, like a carpet covering the earth in green, and I also felt as if I had arrived in a lush forest, experiencing the tender green that stirs the heart.

The travel itinerary was quite tight, as each scenic spot had many sights to see and the distances between them were not short. Leaving Yudai Beach, we took a boat to the next attraction—Fenjiezhou Island.

The sand here is soft, fine, and white.

As can be seen from the photos, the seawater gradually turns blue, because it is exceptionally clear and becomes deeper. I had been to the seaside in Shenzhen before, but I had never seen such clear, clean, pure, and bright seawater. Here, coconut trees grow by the seaside, presenting a complete and charming island scenery.

Hainan Journey (Part 2)

The next morning, we took a bus to Nanshan Buddhist Cultural Park, the southernmost temple in China and the youngest newly built temple approved by the State Council. Standing on the sea-viewing platform in front of the temple, we could faintly see several large mountains appearing and disappearing in the mist. Li Bai's poem "Suddenly I hear of a fairy mountain on the sea, a mountain that exists in the ethereal void" is most fitting here. Nanshan Temple is most renowned for creating a world-class national treasure—the world's first gold and jade statue of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, a masterpiece of world craftsmanship. Its extraordinary artistic charm and the special connection between Avalokitesvara and Nanshan attract visitors from all directions, with the profound Buddhist culture evident everywhere.

The statue of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is 108 meters tall, a world record, with 108 lotus petals beneath her feet. The number 108 symbolizes the 108 kinds of worldly afflictions.

The three-faced Avalokitesvara is a single statue with three forms: the front face holds a sutra box, representing the 600 volumes of Prajnaparamita Sutra, symbolizing Avalokitesvara's ability to observe all beings' conditions and guide them freely to awaken their wisdom. The right face holds a lotus, and the left face holds a prayer bead, symbolizing wisdom, peace, and compassion respectively. Each form embodies a great wisdom and responsive function, capable of increasing blessings and wisdom, and ensuring safety. This expresses the compassionate spirit of "beings reciting the Buddha, the Buddha reciting beings" as one. The overall statue represents Avalokitesvara's great compassion: "great kindness brings joy to all beings, great pity removes suffering from all beings."

Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva is revered as a supreme deity, traditionally representing the protector of peace for all directions. With her kindness and tolerance, she safeguards all living beings. People pour out their sufferings before her and pray for happiness. Her cultural connotation helps untie one difficult knot after another in people's hearts.

The cross-sea bridge leading to the Avalokitesvara statue is called Puji Bridge, 280 meters long, showcasing its grandeur and magnificence.

Here stands the world's largest hall for Avalokitesvara—Yuantong Baodian—and the largest hall for birth deities. We followed the crowd to the feet of Avalokitesvara, bent down, and prayed while clinging to her big toe, praying for favorable weather, peace and prosperity for the land of China, social harmony and prosperity, and also for my family's happiness and health.

Behind the statue lies the vast sea. Guanyin Bodhisattva stands here, using the treasure in her hand to ward off all the fierce winds and raging waves from the sea.

After paying homage to the Bodhisattva, we also had a vegetarian meal at the cultural park's cafeteria.

Leaving Nanshan Buddhist Cultural Park, we headed straight for Tianya Haijiao. This is a famous scenic spot, truly known to every household and familiar to women and children alike.

Getting off the car and walking toward the beach, we were greeted by a sculpture, atop which was the world's largest crystal ball, as the guide had mentioned. Listening to his explanation, I wondered how big the world's largest could be! But when I saw it, I was rather disappointed—it wasn't as big as I had imagined.

Here, we also saw the same seascape as on other beaches, except that this one had rocks, which other beaches lacked, and these rocks were unique. Dozens of large and small boulders stood on the sand, bearing numerous stone carvings. Among them was a cone-shaped giant rock about a meter tall, standing majestically in the sea, inscribed with "Tianya" (End of the Sky). Beside it, there was another large rock engraved with "Haikuo Tiankong" (Boundless Sea and Sky), and people were scrambling to take photos in front of it.

Walking forward from Tianya for about 500 meters, we arrived at Haijiao (Corner of the Sea). After touring Tianya Haijiao, we turned back. On the roadside along the way back, a tree grew in a crevice between rocks. Reading the inscription on it revealed its character: "A tree at Tianya, witnessing life's journey, white hair recalls the past, a place of survival in dire straits." This was a poem by He Baoshen, a Chinese painter, sculptor, and artist. This small banyan tree, surviving in the rock crevice, had its roots deeply embedded in the giant rock's fissures, intertwining and twisting. Its main trunk was lush with branches and leaves, giving rise to many small banyan trees, embodying a spirit of perseverance, self-reliance, and striving upward—a symbol of life's resilience and tenacity, inspiring admiration.

After visiting the Ends of the Earth, it was already 5 PM in the evening. We hurriedly got back on the bus and headed to Sanya. On the way, everyone had a group meal. Although the taste wasn't great, the atmosphere was very harmonious, and we ate happily. After eating, we took the bus to the Sanya hotel. The hotel we stayed at was in the center of Sanya, and the environment was superb. After showering with friends, we went out for a stroll nearby at night, enjoying local specialties like coconut jelly, stir-fried ice, Baoluo noodles, and seafood. After eating and drinking our fill, we returned to the hotel to rest, looking forward to the start of another day's itinerary.

Hainan Journey (Part Three)

On the third day, our morning itinerary was the Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park. The weather was uncooperative that day, with a light drizzle falling. Everyone quickly opened their umbrellas and entered the scenic area gate. We rode along the winding road uphill. The road up the mountain was very steep. Sitting in the sightseeing car, it felt like riding a roller coaster at an amusement park—sometimes slow, sometimes fast, sometimes up, sometimes down, sometimes straight, sometimes curved. Halfway up the mountain, we arrived at the "Guojianglong Suspension Bridge," a scenic spot from the movie *If You Are the One 2*. This bridge connected two mountain peaks and was also a filming location used in the movie. The suspension bridge swayed, the weather was rainy, and the sea wind was strong. I mustered my courage to overcome my fear of heights and walked unsteadily across the bridge.

After crossing the suspension bridge, we continued riding to the top of the mountain. At the summit, we passed through an artistic square and corridor, viewed the "Dragon Soaring Across the World" statue at the Dragon Carving Square, and took group photos together.

The buildings, landscapes, and even the smallest grass, flowers, and trees in the forest park harmoniously blended with the natural environment of the tropical mountain rainforest. It formed a unique character that was both bold and restrained, luxurious and intimate, fashionable and traditional, artistic and casual. It was truly a picturesque and breathtakingly beautiful place, even beyond your imagination. I really liked it here. It was truly a wonderful and beautiful place!

After visiting the Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park, we arrived at the Xinglong Tropical Botanical Garden. The Xinglong Tropical Botanical Garden is the place where green vegetation grows most luxuriantly, with many precious plants inside. It is a tropical botanical garden, orchard, and flower garden. As soon as we entered the garden, the rain grew heavier, so everyone had to hurriedly end the tour. Afterward, the garden guide took us to a shopping area to taste coffee and pastries. After a short rest, we browsed the specialty shops. Everyone bought gifts they wanted to bring back for their families, and then we ended the entire Sanya trip and returned to Haikou.

Summary of the Hainan Trip

The entire trip brought us great joy and happiness. During the five-day, four-night journey, colleagues helped each other and stayed closely united. The company was immersed in an atmosphere of "harmony and friendship," enhancing mutual bonds and strengthening cohesion. At the same time, it promoted Zhiming's cultural philosophy of "Artistic Litigation," enriched employees' leisure and cultural life, and broadened our horizons. As a member of Zhiming, I feel deeply proud and honored. Finally, I would like to thank Zhiming and the director for funding this relaxing trip. Over the four days, we ate well, drank well, and had a great time. Now, we will strive for even better results, go all out, and work hard for our dreams!
