[Shenzhen Lawyers Association] Standing at a New Starting Point, Achieving New Actions: The Legal Profession Community Working Committee Holds Its First Plenary Meeting
On the afternoon of July 2, 2017, the Tenth Legal Profession Community Working Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "LPCWC") held its first plenary meeting. The LPCWC, like a warship, officially set sail, braving the wind and waves, escorting the aircraft carrier of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association, which carries the dreams and mission of over ten thousand lawyers across the city.
[3] The meeting was attended by Jiang Xilin, Director of the Municipal Bureau of Justice; Lin Changchi, President of the Municipal Bar Association; Wei Hanjiao, Supervisor-in-Chief; Vice Presidents Zhang Cheng, Cai Hua, Zeng Mai, and Wang Tengfeng; Xu Yiqun, Director of the Legal Promotion Committee; Fang Zhuangyi, Director of the Rights Protection Committee; all committee members; and Wei Xinmin, Supervisor, as an observer. The meeting was chaired by Liu Qingjiang, Director of the LPCC.
Director Liu Qingjiang reported on the division of responsibilities among the director, deputy directors, director assistants, and secretary, and organized all committee members to study the Working Rules for Specialized Committees of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association. The meeting discussed and approved the three-year work plan and the 2017 annual work plan; all appointed members took an oath of office, and recent work arrangements were deployed.
Vice President Zeng Mai stated that the three-year work plan of the Legal Community Committee and the 2017 annual work plan have defined the direction and tasks for future work. He expressed hope that committee members would fully implement the various work plans, work closely with other specialized committees, and strengthen working relationships with public security, procuratorial, judicial, and administrative departments.
President Lin Changzhi emphasized that the Legal Community Committee must keep in mind its mission of safeguarding rights and promoting judicial justice, cooperate with other specialized committees such as the Rights Protection Committee and the Legal Promotion Committee, and further strengthen communication and contact with judicial administrative departments; extensively collect opinions and suggestions from lawyer representatives; and use Internet Plus technology to establish a mutual evaluation and cooperative information exchange platform with member units of the legal professional community, so as to continuously improve the practice environment for lawyers in our city.
Director Jiang Xilin pointed out that lawyers are an important component and the backbone of the legal professional community. The Legal Professional Community Committee of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association should actively expand its “circle of friends,” build mutual trust with member institutions of the legal professional community, maintain positive interaction, strengthen information exchange and academic and cultural exchanges, explore and research new models of business cooperation, contribute to the development of the legal professional community, and support Shenzhen’s economic development.
Supervisor Wei Xinmin, on behalf of the Board of Supervisors, expressed supervisory opinions, noting that the meeting agenda was compact and efficient. The formation and establishment of the Legal Profession Community Committee complied with the association's charter and regulations, and the division of responsibilities among members was clear. He hoped that committee members would adhere to the working rules and discipline of the special committee and actively fulfill their duties.
