[Shenzhen Bar Association] The Industry Development Strategy Committee of the Municipal Bar Association Visited Nanjing and Hangzhou for Research and Study
From April 9 to 11, 2019, a delegation of eight people, including Wang Tengfeng, Vice President of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association, Chen Xufei, Director, Mei Wen, Supervisor, Liu Feng, Deputy Secretary-General, and members of the Industry Development Strategy Committee, visited the Nanjing Lawyers Association and the Hangzhou Lawyers Association to conduct research on the experiences and practices in the development of the lawyer industry, talent cultivation, policy support, and industry construction.
On the morning of the 10th, the delegation visited the Nanjing Lawyers Association. Jia Zhenghe, President of the Nanjing Lawyers Association, Qian Zhi, Vice President, Tang Junhua, Deputy Supervisor, and Xia Haoxin and Zhang Zhengyan, Deputy Secretaries-General, warmly received the delegation and held a discussion. President Jia Zhenghe provided a detailed introduction to the development of Nanjing's legal profession and the basic situation of the association. In recent years, the construction and development of Nanjing's legal profession have advanced steadily, and the ranks of lawyers have continued to grow. To build a communication platform for small and medium-sized law firms, the Nanjing Lawyers Association has carried out a series of activities such as “Into the Future” aimed at facilitating communication among law firm directors, in order to promote the integration of professionalism, systems, and culture among firms. During the discussion, both sides also exchanged and explored views on the development of small and medium-sized firms, industry talent training, and support policies for the legal profession. Vice President Wang Tengfeng thanked the Nanjing Lawyers Association for its warm reception and expressed honor at being the first sister association to visit and exchange since the Nanjing Lawyers Association's leadership transition. At the same time, Vice President Wang Tengfeng introduced the development of Shenzhen's legal profession to Nanjing counterparts, hoping for more opportunities in the future to exchange and learn with the Nanjing Lawyers Association, further strengthening cooperation between the legal professions of the two cities, learning from each other's strengths to make up for shortcomings, and jointly promoting the better and faster development of the legal professions in both cities.
On the morning of the 11th, the delegation visited the Hangzhou Lawyers Association and held discussions with Huang Weiyuan, Vice President of the Hangzhou Lawyers Association; Chen Xiaojing, Deputy Secretary-General; Wang Zheng, Deputy Director of the Industry Development Strategy Committee; and Yang Fan, Committee Member. Vice President Huang Weiyuan extended a warm welcome to the delegation and provided an overview of the development of Hangzhou's legal profession and the organizational structure of the Hangzhou Lawyers Association. In recent years, the scale of Hangzhou's legal profession has grown steadily, with the number of law firms and lawyers maintaining an annual growth rate of approximately 10%. Vice President Wang Tengfeng expressed gratitude for the warm reception and introduced the current state of Shenzhen's legal profession to counterparts in Hangzhou. Vice President Wang Tengfeng also noted that Shenzhen and Hangzhou share similarities in resource allocation, market environment, and macro policies. The Hangzhou Lawyers Association is meticulous in its work and has valuable experience and practices in industry development, talent cultivation, and public legal services that are worth learning from. He expressed hope that the two associations would further deepen exchanges and cooperation, learn from each other's strengths, and jointly promote the sustained and healthy development of the legal profession.
On the afternoon of the 11th, in order to learn from the management experience of leading law firms, the delegation also visited Zhejiang Tiance Law Firm, where in-depth discussions were held on topics including law firm management models, advantages of specialized development, talent cultivation methods, and the future direction of law firm development.
During the research period, Vice President Wang Tengfeng, on behalf of the Shenzhen Bar Association, presented souvenirs and the first compiled and published "Shenzhen Lawyer Industry Social Responsibility Report" by the Shenzhen Bar Association's Industry Development Strategy Committee to the Nanjing and Hangzhou Bar Associations. The research study concluded with all participants gaining substantial insights, and the Municipal Bar Association's Industry Development Strategy Committee will actively strive in future work to achieve new accomplishments in promoting the industry development of the Shenzhen Bar Association.
