Qianhai International Lawyer Training Center Established
On the afternoon of December 28, 2013, the signing ceremony for the cooperative framework agreement and the unveiling ceremony of the "Qianhai International Lawyer Training Center (Lawyer's College)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Training Center") were held in the lecture hall of the Graduate School at Shenzhen, Tsinghua University. Attendees included Jiang Yuyang, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Congress; Zhang Yong, President of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association; Lin Xiaoqing and Liang Jiandong, Vice Presidents; Li Yuxiang, Director of the Lawyer and Notary Management Division of the Shenzhen Municipal Justice Bureau; Li Hong, Party Secretary of the Tsinghua University School of Law; Yu Lingyun, Vice Dean; Zhao Qinggang, Party Secretary of the Graduate School at Shenzhen, Tsinghua University; Lin Xinqiang, President of the Law Society of Hong Kong; and over 200 trainees from the second centralized training session for lawyer practice applicants of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association in 2013. The ceremony was presided over by Zhu Daming, Director of Training Programs at the Graduate School at Shenzhen, Tsinghua University.
[3] President Zhang Yong, Vice Dean Yu Lingyun, Secretary Zhao Qinggang, and President Lin Xinqiang, representing the cooperating parties of the Training Center, jointly signed the "Qianhai International Lawyer Training Center Cooperation Framework Agreement" and unveiled the Training Center.
[4] The establishment of the Training Center is a major initiative by the Shenzhen Lawyers Association to effectively enhance lawyer training, focusing on the future development of Shenzhen's legal profession. It aims to strengthen lawyers' political awareness, professional skills, and ethical standards, striving to build a team of internationally competent legal professionals who are politically steadfast, proficient in law, uphold justice, and adhere to integrity—suited to the needs of modernization. President Zhang Yong and Vice President Liang Jiandong visited Tsinghua University Law School, Tsinghua University Shenzhen Graduate School, and the Hong Kong Law Society multiple times to discuss the Training Center's preparation, inspecting conditions and hardware facilities. The cooperating parties, adhering to principles of equal consultation, consensus-building, and mutual benefit, formally signed the agreement and held the unveiling after repeated negotiations.
[5] The cooperating parties believe that the Training Center bears the responsibility of identifying future leaders in the legal profession and cultivating high-end legal talent. Tsinghua University Law School and Tsinghua University Shenzhen Graduate School will leverage their global educational resources and comprehensive teaching facilities, combined with the characteristics of the legal profession, to design scientific and reasonable training courses for lawyers, ensuring scientific rigor, professionalism, and foresight. Meanwhile, the Hong Kong Law Society will draw on advanced international development experiences from the UK, Australia, and other regions to provide valuable insights for the internationalization of Shenzhen lawyers.
[6] President Zhang Yong stated that, given the development needs of Qianhai's modern service industry, he hopes the cooperating parties will seize the historical opportunity of Qianhai's strategic development, actively collaborate and pool efforts, and work together to build the Qianhai International Lawyer Training Center into an excellent lawyer training institution serving Shenzhen and Hong Kong while radiating influence across Southeast Asia.
