Zhizhi Legal Forum 2020 First Lecture: The Art and Technique of Client Interviewing
On the afternoon of January 16, 2020, the "Zhixing Lecture Hall 2020 First Session," hosted by Guangdong Zhiming Law Firm, commenced in the firm's conference room. The theme of this sharing lecture was "The Art and Technique of Case Consultation," aimed at sharing lawyers' secret tricks of creative thinking in consulting on cases. Orderly listening means not allowing clients to speak at will, but guiding them to state objective facts concisely rather than subjective psychological feelings. Precise questioning means understanding the core points of the case and clarifying both substantive and procedural issues. Necessary answering means that answers to clients' questions should be neither too brief nor too comprehensive. He also warned lawyers that they should not only harbor goodwill toward clients but also maintain a sense of caution, pay attention to the appropriateness of their words when talking with clients, and never make promises of "guaranteed outcomes."
