On November 9, 2016, applicants Zhong Mouliang and Ye Mouqing joined Shenzhen Mouhai Trade Co., Ltd. as outsourced quality control inspectors (QC). Shortly after, they resigned and filed an arbitration application with the Labor and Personnel Dispute Arbitration Committee of a certain district in Shenzhen, claiming the company failed to sign labor contracts and demanding double wages in compensation.

To respond to the lawsuit, Shenzhen Mouhai Trade Co., Ltd. sought the Wang Tengfeng lawyer team from Guangdong Zhiming Law Firm and quickly completed the entrustment procedures to formally authorize Zhiming lawyers to represent them.
