[6] Represented Residents in Suing Property Management and Security Guards for Colluding with Kidnappers Resulting in Property (Robbery) Loss Compensation Dispute Case
One night in early June 2009, a Hong Kong couple, Li X and Liu XX, renting in a residential area in Luohu, were held at gunpoint by several suspects who broke into their home. The robbers then ransacked the premises for hours, taking money and valuables, and did not leave until the early hours of the next morning. After the robbers left, the victims freed themselves and reported the incident to the police. An inventory showed that the stolen property was worth millions of yuan.
In a situation where the criminal case could not be resolved quickly, the victims, puzzled by the strange circumstances during the robbery, sought legal advice from Director Wang Tengfeng of Guangdong Zhiming Law Firm regarding compensation for their substantial property losses. After a detailed inquiry into the robbery process, Director Wang Tengfeng, relying on his years of case experience and keen, forward-thinking insight, believed that the property management company of the residential area bore an undeniable responsibility for the victims' losses.
Subsequent police investigation revealed that Zhu XX, a security guard in the residential area, was a major suspect. After being detained, Zhu XX confessed to his crimes. This confirmed the accuracy of Director Wang Tengfeng's initial judgment. Only then did the victims understand why the robbers were so familiar with their situation, why they entered the residential area so smoothly, and why they acted so audaciously.
Based on the trust built from the facts, the victims have now formally retained Guangdong Zhiming Law Firm. The firm has assigned Director Wang Tengfeng and his assistant, lawyer Cao Guanghui, as their representatives. A civil lawsuit for compensation of the stolen property has been filed with the Luohu District People's Court, and the case is scheduled for trial soon.
