On May 26, 2012, Yi Liying, having heard of the reputation of Zhiming Law Firm in Guangdong, urgently sought out lawyer Zhiming, expressing anxiously: her husband Wei Panpan, on the night of May 21, 2012, drove a client from Humen, Dongguan to Shenzhen, and during a routine inspection at Tongle Pass, drugs were found in the car. He is now detained in Nanshan Detention Center.
After initially reviewing the case, Attorney Zhi Ming comforted the client while expressing his commitment to do everything possible to fight for Wei Panpan, and immediately assigned Attorney Zhang Qingping to handle the relevant procedures. On May 28, 2012, Attorney Zhang Qingping met with Wei Panpan to understand the specific details and then reported back to Attorney Zhi Ming. Upon learning of the situation, Attorney Zhi Ming promptly arranged for Attorney Zhang Qingping to negotiate with the investigating officer, stating that Wei Panpan was unaware of the circumstances and had only transported customers to earn freight fees, without even knowing their names, and therefore could not possibly be an accomplice. After repeated negotiations with the public security authorities, the Nanshan Branch of the Shenzhen Municipal Court issued the Bail Pending Trial Decision (Document No. Shen Gong Nan Bao Zi [2012] 00271) on June 19, 2012. That evening, after completing the formalities, Wei Panpan was successfully released on bail from the Nanshan Detention Center, thereby regaining freedom.
