Suspected of drug trafficking, successfully released on bail pending investigation.

On May 26, 2012, Yi Liying sought out lawyer Wang Tengfeng of Guangdong Zhiming Law Firm after hearing of his reputation, and anxiously stated that her husband, Wei Panpan, had taken a client from Humen, Dongguan to Shenzhen on the evening of May 21, 2012. During a routine inspection at Tongle Pass, drugs were found in the car, and he was now being held in Nanshan Detention Center.
After initially reviewing the case, Lawyer Wang comforted the client and expressed his commitment to do everything possible to advocate for Wei Panpan. He immediately assigned Lawyer Zhang Qingping to handle the relevant procedures. On May 28, 2012, Lawyer Zhang met with Wei Panpan to understand the specifics of the case and then reported back to Lawyer Wang Tengfeng. Upon learning the details, Lawyer Wang promptly instructed Lawyer Zhang to communicate with the investigating officer, stating that Wei Panpan was unaware of the situation and had only solicited clients to earn shipping fees, without even knowing their names, and therefore could not be an accomplice. After repeated discussions with the police, the Nanshan Branch of the Shenzhen Court issued a bail decision (Document No. Shen Gong Nan Bao Zi [2012] 00271) on June 19, 2012. That evening, after completing the necessary procedures, Wei Panpan was successfully released on bail from the Nanshan Detention Center, thereby regaining freedom.
