[1] Announcement on Defending Rights Against Global Pass Mobile Phone Fee Fraud by Zhiming Institute
As is well known, China Mobile Guangdong Company Limited announced through various media reports that from August 1, 2007, Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) users would be allowed to receive calls for free (that is, implementing a one-way charging system). However, recently, some mobile users have reported that after China Mobile announced the implementation of the one-way charging system, it still charged some GSM numbers for receiving calls, which may constitute consumer fraud. To safeguard consumers' legal rights, Guangdong Zhiming Law Firm, on behalf of Mr. Wang and some users of Global System 'Family Network Affection Numbers,' recently filed a lawsuit against China Mobile Communications Group Guangdong Co., Ltd. Shenzhen Branch for mobile phone charging fraud and infringement. The case has now been accepted for filing by the Futian District People's Court.
