[3] Around 1:00 PM on July 2, 2021, a resident named Zou in a Bengbu community took her pet dog out without a leash. At the stairwell entrance, the dog suddenly rushed toward the daughter of neighbor Shao, startling the child. Shao then argued with Zou, leading to a physical altercation. Zou then returned home with her dog, while Shao called the police, claiming her daughter had been bitten.

 
 

[4] When police arrived to handle the situation, the two parties again engaged in a heated argument. During this, Zou verbally threatened and intimidated Shao, stating that "a dog is worth more than a person," which was immediately stopped by the police.
 
[5] On July 4, based on the investigation findings, the Nanhu Road Police Station of the Bengbu Economic Development Zone Public Security Bureau legally imposed a three-day administrative detention on Zou for assaulting another person, and a four-day administrative detention for verbally threatening another person's personal safety, combined for a total of seven days. Zou's act of walking the dog without a leash was referred to the city administrative law enforcement department for handling. Shao was also legally given a three-day administrative detention for assaulting another person.
 
[6] According to earlier media reports, Zou claimed to be the owner of the local Huizhou Banquet Catering Company and threatened Shao, saying, "If you dare touch my dog, I'll kill your child. You're not worth as much as my dog; I can afford millions."
 
In response, Huizhou Feast Catering Co., Ltd. stated: the woman's remarks are unrelated to the company, which condemns such remarks and apologizes to the public; the company is composed of multiple shareholders, not owned by a certain family, and has decided to dismiss the woman.

Article 43
Whoever assaults another person or intentionally causes harm to another person's body shall be detained for not less than 5 days but not more than 10 days and shall also be fined not less than 200 yuan but not more than 500 yuan; if the circumstances are relatively minor, they shall be detained for not more than 5 days or fined not more than 500 yuan.
 
Under any of the following circumstances, the offender shall be detained for not less than 10 days but not more than 15 days and shall also be fined not less than 500 yuan but not more than 1,000 yuan:
(1) Assaulting or harming another person in a group;
(2) Assaulting or harming a disabled person, a pregnant woman, a person under the age of 14, or a person over the age of 60;
(3) Assaulting or harming another person multiple times, or assaulting or harming multiple persons at one time.

A single word can prosper a nation, and a single word can ruin a country. Due to the escalation of this incident, Huizhou Banquet has also faced a boycott from local people. Not only is there a flood of online criticism, but even previously booked banquets have been canceled one after another. It is understood that Huizhou Banquet was originally a high-end dining establishment in Bengbu, where young people would consider it for hosting banquets, and business used to be very prosperous. After this incident, business has become much quieter. Some people say: "If Huizhou Banquet doesn't collapse, it's because we Bengbu people haven't done our part." Others joke: "I dare not eat at Huizhou Banquet, afraid the boss's wife will set her dog on me." From this, it's clear that the "boss's wife's" words have had a significant impact on Huizhou Banquet.
 
Seeing this, we find that the focus of this incident is not that both parties violated the "Public Security Administration Punishment Law," but that the "Huizhou Banquet boss's wife's" arrogant few words stirred the public's emotions. Undoubtedly, the "Huizhou Banquet boss's wife's" remarks were indeed inappropriate. That self-righteous ugly face, that demeanor of doing whatever she pleases, that mindset lacking basic respect for life and basic awareness of public boundaries—not only should it be morally condemned, but the downfall of Huizhou Banquet is also a painful lesson for her.
