[3] We understand that for an individual, the state is always powerful, possessing a full set of institutions such as police, courts, and prisons, with its control omnipresent. To prevent the legitimate rights and interests of a criminal suspect from being harmed due to state prosecution, there needs to be a set of rules and procedures that exist before the litigation begins. Criminal procedure is the rule designed to balance the conflict between state judicial power and individual civil rights.
On the morning of September 21, Zhiming Law Firm held a collective seminar on the theme "Legal Issues Related to Lawyer Practice During the Review and Prosecution Stage," with lawyers and paralegals from the firm participating in the training session in the firm's conference room.
This seminar was hosted by senior lawyer Cao Guanghui. During the meeting, Lawyer Cao summarized his years of experience in handling cases and provided excellent professional knowledge to the training personnel on four aspects: marking criminal case review, meeting with defendants, communicating and negotiating with prosecutors (combined with the use of literary and artistic rights protection litigation), communicating with the families of the parties involved, and handling bail matters. After the meeting, the attendees had lively discussions and exchanges on the teaching content, which greatly helped to enhance their own business knowledge.
In the afternoon, Zhiming Law Firm held a "Celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival and Welcoming National Day" tea party. Director Wang Tengfeng of Zhiming Law Firm attended and delivered a speech, extending sincere greetings and best wishes to all lawyers, assistants, and staff for the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day.
