[Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Justice] Shenzhen Lawyers Association Elects New Working Team
The 10th Shenzhen Lawyers' Congress once again continued the democratic and innovative spirit of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association. All representatives diligently fulfilled their duties, offering suggestions for the development of the Shenzhen legal profession. The meeting elected the 10th working team of the Lawyers Association. Lin Changchi was elected as the 10th President of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association, and Wei Hanjiao was elected as the 6th Chairman of the Supervisory Board. The meeting also passed with a high majority the "Work Report of the 9th Council of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association," "Work Report of the 5th Supervisory Board of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association," "Financial Final Accounts Report of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association for 2016 (Draft)," "Financial Budget Report of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association for 2017 (Draft)," "Amendment to the Articles of Association of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association," and "Outline of the 13th Five-Year Development Plan for the Shenzhen Legal Profession (Draft)."
At the closing ceremony of the congress, Jiang Xilin, Director of the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Justice, expressed hope that Shenzhen lawyers would be politically astute and professionally competent. He also hoped that the new leadership team of the Lawyers Association would uphold their oaths, fulfill their promises, and faithfully perform their duties, turning the association into a platform for legal services, professional exchange, and communication between the Party, government, and lawyer friends. He urged them to delve into issues of concern to representatives, focus on the core rights and interests of lawyers, strive to build a professional exchange platform, strengthen Shenzhen lawyers' intellectual property and foreign-related legal services, and advance supply-side structural reform in the legal profession. He hoped that Shenzhen lawyers would serve as "suppliers" of legal services in Shenzhen, contributing wisdom and strength to the construction of a model city for rule of law. Jiang Xilin stated that the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Justice would help Shenzhen lawyers expand the legal services market, continue to advocate for the development of the Shenzhen legal profession, and promote its sustained and healthy growth.
At the congress, the newly elected 10th Council and 6th Supervisory Board of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association, led by President Lin Changchi, took a collective oath. They expressed their determination to uphold the dignity of the Constitution and laws, build a democratic and harmonious Shenzhen legal profession, abide by the provisions of the "Articles of Association of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association," remember their mission and responsibilities, ensure sufficient time and energy for association work, and during their tenure (as President, Chairman, Vice President, Vice Chairman, Council Member, or Supervisor), place personal and institutional interests below those of the profession, refraining from using their elected positions to gain benefits or honors for themselves, relatives, friends, or their institutions.
