【Shenzhen Bar Association】The Shenzhen Lawyers Association has elected a new working team.
The 10th Shenzhen Lawyers Congress once again carried forward the democratic and innovative spirit of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association. All delegates diligently performed their duties and contributed ideas and suggestions for the development of Shenzhen's legal profession. The congress elected the 10th working team of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association. Lin Changchi was elected President of the 10th Shenzhen Lawyers Association, and Wei Hanjiao was elected Supervisor-General of the 6th Board of Supervisors of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association. The congress also passed with a high vote the Work Report of the 9th Board of Directors of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association, the Work Report of the 5th Board of Supervisors of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association, the 2016 Financial Final Accounts Report (Draft) of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association, the 2017 Financial Budget Report (Draft) of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association, the Amendments to the Constitution of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association, and the Outline of the 13th Five-Year Development Plan for Shenzhen's Legal Profession (Draft).
At the closing ceremony of the congress, Jiang Xilin, Director of the Shenzhen Municipal Justice Bureau, expressed his hope that Shenzhen lawyers would be politically astute and professionally competent. He also hoped that the new leadership team of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association would adhere to their oaths, honor their commitments, and faithfully perform their duties, building the Association into a platform for lawyer services, professional exchange, and communication between the Party and government and lawyer friends. He emphasized the need to devote serious effort to studying the issues of concern to representatives, and to focus on safeguarding lawyers’ core rights and interests, striving to build a professional exchange platform, expanding and strengthening Shenzhen lawyers’ intellectual property and foreign-related legal services, and advancing supply-side structural reform in the legal profession. He hoped that Shenzhen lawyers would serve as good “suppliers” of legal services in Shenzhen and contribute their wisdom and strength to building Shenzhen into a demonstration city for the rule of law. Jiang Xilin stated that the Shenzhen Municipal Justice Bureau would help Shenzhen lawyers explore the legal services market, continue to advocate for and support the development of Shenzhen’s legal profession, and promote its sustained and healthy development.
At the congress, the newly elected 10th Council and 6th Supervisory Board of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association, led by President Lin Changchi, took a collective oath. They expressed their determination to uphold the dignity of the Constitution and laws, build a democratic and harmonious Shenzhen legal profession, abide by the provisions of the "Articles of Association of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association," remember their mission and responsibilities, ensure sufficient time and energy for association work, and during their tenure (as President, Chairman, Vice President, Vice Chairman, Council Member, or Supervisor), place personal and institutional interests below those of the profession, refraining from using their elected positions to gain benefits or honors for themselves, relatives, friends, or their institutions.
