He stated that the Shenzhen Bar Association will keep pace with the times, forge ahead with determination, and carry out various tasks vigorously and orderly, striving to improve the publicity work of the current Bar Association, establish a good professional image for Shenzhen lawyers, and create a favorable legal environment for Shenzhen's rule-of-law construction. He hoped that all sectors of society, especially friends from the news media, would continue to encourage and support, and that lawyers and journalists would become lasting friends, helping each other and progressing together.
During the interactive exchange, the media expressed gratitude to the Shenzhen Lawyers Association and attention to the election of the 10th council, and raised questions on topics such as the construction of legal services for the "Belt and Road" initiative, the development of the lawyers' academy, discussions on legal issues in the Greater Bay Area, and potential innovative legal products and services in the future, expressing a desire to strengthen cooperation and communication with the Shenzhen Lawyers Association and Shenzhen lawyers, as well as smooth interaction with committee members.
Chairman Lin Changchi thanked the media friends for their recognition of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association, noting that lawyers and journalists do not represent public power and share common characteristics in maintaining social fairness and justice and balancing public power. He discussed the reasons for the widespread social attention on this election, including society's focus on the lawyer community and profession, attention to the Shenzhen region, and observation of the rule of law civilization and political civilization. He introduced that the 10th council has been in office for 107 days, fulfilling its commitments by publishing monthly work updates of the chairman team, council team, various specialized, professional, district lawyer work committees, and the secretariat, accepting supervision from representatives and being accountable to them. They have implemented project-based management and formulated a work plan for the current term and a 2017 schedule. In response to media concerns, he stated that leveraging the favorable conditions of judicial system reform, the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Justice has high expectations for the Shenzhen Lawyers Association. The current council will actively act, focusing on the following areas: first, leveraging the "Belt and Road" national initiative to expand legal services, cultivate foreign-related legal talent, research the legal rules and national cultures of 65 "Belt and Road" countries, establish medium- and long-term foreign talent training plans, and provide services for Shenzhen lawyers to "go global." Second, promoting informatization construction to integrate with "smart courts," interconnect with public security, procuratorate, and court agencies, and improve judicial efficiency and case handling standards. Third, advancing the construction of a legal professional community, safeguarding lawyers' practice rights, and promoting judicial fairness. Additionally, the 10th council will pragmatically work on promoting full coverage of criminal defense, handling lawyer discipline and rights protection, and leveraging lawyers' roles in political participation. He hopes that over the next three years, the Shenzhen Lawyers Association will closely cooperate with the media to jointly promote social civilization and progress.
