[Shenzhen Lawyers Association] Wang Junfeng, President of the All China Lawyers Association, sends a message to Shenzhen lawyers: Strive to be pioneers in the new round of industry innovation and development.
On the morning of August 16, Lin Changchi, President of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association, along with Vice Presidents Zhang Cheng and Wang Tengfeng, and Secretary-General Wang Hong, visited the All China Lawyers Association to report on their work. They were received by Wang Junfeng, President of the All China Lawyers Association, and Secretary-General Han Xiutao for a discussion.
President Lin Changzhi reported on the development of Shenzhen's legal profession and the work plan of the Tenth Shenzhen Lawyers Association, and stated that efforts would be focused on the following key tasks: First, actively respond to the “Belt and Road” initiative, advance practice expansion and talent development, and make law firms stronger and better. Second, rely on the Municipal Justice Bureau to promote industry informatization, strive to achieve interconnection between the industry and the information systems of public security, procuratorial, and judicial organs, and create conditions for lawyers to handle cases and contact judges. Third, comprehensively deepen the building of the legal professional community, promote the establishment of a regular joint conference system with public security, procuratorial, judicial, and security organs, and resolve difficulties in lawyers' practice one by one. Fourth, establish the Shenzhen Lawyers College and build it into a hub for internship training, talent development, practice research, and legal dissemination in Shenzhen's legal profession. Fifth, strive to promote amendment of the special zone's lawyers regulations and use legislative advantages to accelerate industry development. At the same time, continue to advance work such as government procurement of legal services and industry self-regulatory management. Representatives of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association attending the meeting also highlighted the industry's tax concerns. President Lin Changzhi stated that the new team of the Lawyers Association will humbly listen to the guiding instructions of the judicial administrative organs and the higher-level lawyers association and ensure their implementation, and at the same time requested that the All China Lawyers Association further increase support for Shenzhen's legal profession, giving attention and support in areas such as sharing legal service resources, jointly holding practice forums, and cultivating foreign-related legal talent.
President Wang Junfeng fully affirmed the achievements of the Shenzhen lawyers' profession and the work plans of the Tenth Shenzhen Lawyers Association. He stated that Shenzhen, as a frontier city of reform and opening up, holds an important and unique position in the development of the national lawyers' profession. He expressed the hope that Shenzhen lawyers would strive to be pathfinders for a new round of innovative development in the industry and continue to excel in the following aspects: First, maintain high positioning, a broad vision, and a wide perspective, always uphold the leadership of the Party, integrate lawyers' work into the overall central work of Party committees and governments for planning and advancement, and give full play to the exemplary and leading role of lawyers in the special economic zone. Second, review and summarize the development history and experience of Shenzhen's lawyers' profession over the past three decades, take self-discipline and innovation as important levers and breakthroughs for the development of the lawyers' profession, and drive a new round of innovative development in the industry. Third, take the comprehensive implementation of government legal counsel as an opportunity to support government administrative reform and innovation, while exploring new paths for the national lawyers' profession to gain due status and matching rights in participating in public interest legal services. Fourth, proactively adapt to new situations and demands such as “Internet Plus,” artificial intelligence, and big data, actively explore new applications and new models of intelligent tools in the lawyers' profession, and accumulate experience for the national lawyers' profession in responding to the wave of technological change. Fifth, leverage the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area to accelerate the internationalization of Shenzhen's lawyers' profession and the cultivation of foreign-related legal talent, and seize policy opportunities to further strengthen and optimize the lawyers' profession.
Secretary-General Han Xiutao stated that the work of Shenzhen lawyers is not only of concern to the National Lawyers Association but also attracts the attention of the national legal profession. He hoped that the Shenzhen Lawyers Association would, on one hand, grasp new situations and opportunities, continuously advance the development of the legal profession, and create new highlights in modern service industries. On the other hand, it should play an active role in the new round of judicial system reform, safeguard lawyers' practice rights, and further explore and improve the industry self-discipline management mechanism in line with the Ministry of Justice's requirements for lawyers associations to take the lead. The National Lawyers Association will also intensify efforts to promote the implementation of relevant lawyer work reform documents in the near future, striving to create favorable practice conditions and environments for lawyers nationwide.
