[Shenzhen Lawyers Association] The Municipal Lawyers Association Visits Shenzhen Arbitration Commission for Discussion and Exchange
On the morning of August 25, a delegation from the Municipal Lawyers Association, including President Lin Changchi, Vice Presidents Zhang Cheng, Yin Chenggang, Zeng Mai, Wang Tengfeng, Secretary-General Wang Hong, and Business Department Director Zeng Lili, visited the Shenzhen Arbitration Commission. They were received and engaged in discussions by Shenzhen Arbitration Commission Director Song Weisheng, Deputy Director Dong Lianhe, Secretariat Director Li Qiuliang, Case Trial Department Director Wang Luhai, Financial Arbitration Institute President Hu Dawei, Medical Dispute Arbitration Institute President Zou Chuping, and Development Department Deputy Director Chen Qiaomei.
Director Song Weisheng, on behalf of the Arbitration Commission, welcomed the visit of the 10th Bar Association working team and introduced the founding background and current development status of the Shenzhen Arbitration Commission. Currently, the Commission is one of the top five arbitration institutions in the country, with lawyer-arbitrators accounting for about 31% of its members, forming a highly qualified talent pool. Director Song Weisheng stated: First, the Arbitration Commission will prioritize incorporating lawyer talent into the arbitrator team; second, the Commission will prioritize providing arbitration services to lawyers.
President Lin Changchi briefly introduced the main work structure and basic situation of the Municipal Bar Association. Currently, the number of practicing lawyers in Shenzhen has reached 10,937, and law firms have reached 716. However, there is a considerable gap in business scale compared to Beijing and Shanghai, especially in non-litigation fields and foreign-related legal services. This cooperation with the Shenzhen Arbitration Commission is an important measure to enhance the professional capabilities and core competitiveness of Shenzhen lawyers.
During the symposium, both sides discussed arbitration error correction mechanisms, arbitration enforcement effectiveness, and management of external arbitration institutions, and reached a consensus on how to further deepen cooperation and seek mutual benefits, such as promoting lawyers' awareness and support for arbitration methods, strengthening communication between lawyer-arbitrators and the Arbitration Commission within the Bar Association, and conducting cooperation in training and business exchanges.
After the meeting, both sides stated that they would implement the cooperation plan as soon as possible, refine the cooperation details, and establish a complete and long-term exchange and cooperation mechanism.
