[Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Justice] Yantian Street Introduces New Legal Publicity Methods, Lawyers Compose Folk Songs to Promote Legal Knowledge

Since Guangdong Zhiming Law Firm signed the "Law into the Community" agreements with 5 communities under the jurisdiction of Yantian Street in Yantian District in 2006, it has organized four batches of lawyers, totaling over 50 person-times, to go into the communities, held 30 legal lectures, and provided over 2,000 person-times of free legal consultations to residents. This has played a positive role in guiding the public to resolve disputes in accordance with the law and has effectively maintained community harmony and stability. Five years of community legal education have turned many community residents and lawyers into good friends.

To make legal awareness campaigns more lively and well-received by the public, the resident community lawyers put considerable thought into their efforts. The original inhabitants of the five communities in Yantian Subdistrict are all Hakka people with a tradition of singing Hakka mountain songs. Lawyers from Guangdong Zhiming Law Firm therefore published self-composed legal education Hakka mountain songs in community legal bulletin boards on multiple occasions and recommended performances for the community cultural festival, encouraging community residents to sing them. These efforts were widely welcomed by the residents.
