Why do lawyers both admire and disdain each other?
[2] Today is not only the first day of July, but also the 101st anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's return. On this day of national celebration, we once again welcome the lecture by Director Wang Tengfeng of Guangdong Zhiming Law Firm. His topic this time is "Relationships Among Lawyers." Let's listen to how Lawyer Wang analyzes this...
[3] Lawyers are both legal professionals and cultural workers in writing. Thus, they embody both mutual appreciation and mutual disdain among peers. This differs from public security officers, who are often described as "one family nationwide" because their work is backed by public authority, rooted in impartial law enforcement, and characterized by mutual support and cooperation. Lawyer Wang believes that mutual disdain among lawyers is a normal, common, and widespread phenomenon, while mutual appreciation is a specific, special, and rare occurrence. Therefore, it is not an exaggeration to jokingly say, "Lawyers nationwide are rivals." Although exceptions exist for both lawyers and public security officers, as an upright professional lawyer, Wang hopes everyone can uphold the original intent of the rule of law, hone their skills, and practice law with integrity to protect the people. In doing so, mutual appreciation and concession will naturally prevail.
While everyone was still unsatisfied, Lawyer Wang shared a classic case of his own; Duan is involved in a dispute over the financial loss of his adopted son, Xiao San;. The case is complex and the lawyer entrusted by the party involved, Mr. Duan, was unable to control it during the first instance stage. As a result, Mr. Duan lost the lawsuit and had to seek help from Lawyer Wang, who specializes in major, difficult, and complex cases, during the appeal stage. At this point, Lawyer Wang sold a trick. He didn't explain how he saved this stagnant pool, but instead let the audience think divergently and express their own opinions. After a discussion among everyone, Lawyer Wang slowly explained how he approached literary and artistic rights litigation from the perspectives of emotion, reason, and law, and finally made the judge agree that the facts and principles of our appeal were highly consistent with legal principles, and ruled in favor of our appeal.
After speaking, the applause on site continued like thunder outside, and over a thousand listeners online also gave their likes and cheers. Lawyer Wang's lectures are always able to see the big picture from small to large, from shallow to deep, allowing everyone to clearly feel the central idea of the lecture and experience the magical effect of literary and artistic rights protection litigation. After a lecture, it is truly exhilarating and enjoyable both physically and mentally!
