In August this year, while picking mushrooms on a mountain in Laiqu District, Jinan, Shandong, villagers dug out a male infant from the ground. Fortunately, the unfortunate child is now out of danger at Jinan Second Maternal and Child Health Hospital, having grown from over 1.5 kilograms to 4 kilograms. The first witness who discovered the child recounted the incident, and the child's grandfather appeared at the police station on October 20.
At around 9 a.m. on August 21 this year, Jiao Xinglu, a villager from Nanbaitai Village in Laiwu District, Jinan, and Zhou Shangdong, a soldier returning home on leave, heard a sound like a small animal coming from underground while picking mushrooms on the mountain. Alerted, Jiao Xinglu and Zhou Shangdong dug along the area covered with fresh soil.
As they dug, they uncovered a large stone slab. After moving the slab, a cardboard box appeared. Opening the box, they found a baby boy wrapped in a quilt. Although his body was somewhat purple, he was still breathing, appearing to be only three to five days old. They immediately drove the child to Jinan Second Maternal and Child Health Hospital for treatment.
It is understood that the pit where the baby was buried was 60 centimeters deep and 50 centimeters wide. Villagers said the person who buried the baby might be familiar with the mountain terrain, and the cement slab covering the box was not from the mountain but brought up from below.
On the afternoon of October 20 at 4 p.m., the child's grandfather, after seeing the report, voluntarily went to the Yangliu Police Station in Xintai City to explain the reason for the baby's burial.
In the police station's interrogation room, the child's grandfather explained the burial: "At that time (August this year), after being born in the hospital, he relied entirely on a ventilator to breathe. His lungs were severely infected. If he couldn't breathe, he couldn't have life. He also had some congenital deformities, so we gave up treatment. The day after giving up treatment, he died, and after death, he was buried."
Old Liu confessed that his daughter-in-law had given birth to twins at a hospital in Tai'an. The buried one was the second child. The whole family was extremely sad after burying him, never expecting that he would be rescued by kind-hearted people.

On the morning of October 21, Gao Yunxiang's sexual assault case was heard again in Sydney.
