Today, the Yunnan Provincial High People's Court publicly pronounced its judgment on the retrial of Sun Xiaoguo's 1997 cases involving rape, forced indecency against women, intentional injury, and affray. The court found that the original retrial judgment issued in September 2007 and the second-instance judgment issued in March 1999 were indeed erroneous in conviction and sentencing, and legally revoked them. It upheld the first-instance death sentence imposed by the Kunming Intermediate People's Court in February 1998, and combined it with the final judgment of 25 years' imprisonment for crimes including organizing and leading a mafia-style organization committed after his release from prison, deciding to execute Sun Xiaoguo, deprive him of political rights for life, and confiscate all his personal property.

Delivery rider suspected of killing with a knife over a negative review

On December 22, the Hongshan District Public Security Bureau of Wuhan City reported via Weibo that at around 2 p.m. on December 22, Hongshan police received a report from the public that someone was stabbing people at Nanhu Baigang City. Officers from the police station and service station quickly arrived at the scene and, together with security personnel, subdued the suspect. Emergency medical personnel examined the injured man and found he had no vital signs. Investigation revealed that the victim was an employee of Baigang City, and the suspect was a delivery rider, Chen (male, 32). A verbal altercation occurred between the two, and Chen stabbed Zhou with a knife. The case is under further investigation.

Earlier, an eyewitness claimed that a staff member at the store gave the delivery rider a negative review, leading to a conflict when the rider arrived at the store.

On December 23, regarding the incident where a Wuhan food delivery worker fatally stabbed someone in a shop,Meituan responded to reporters, saying, "The case has been verified not to be triggered by a negative review, but by a verbal altercation over pickup issues,"and will cooperate with police investigations, sparing no effort to improve.

If an employee causes injury or death due to personal matters, the individual bears legal responsibility, and the employer is not liable; if the employer has management faults, it shall bear certain compensation liability; if the employer has no fault, it bears no liability.
