Case review
Recently, a WeChat mini-game called "Sheep a Sheep" has become wildly popular across the internet. Due to its immense popularity, the server crashed three times in two days. The game swept the nation because of its extremely difficult level design, with a reported pass rate of only 0.01%, which sparked many players' competitive spirit, even causing some to lose sleep over it.

In pursuit of "clearing the game," many people go to great lengths to seek "cheats" online, unaware that "scams" are quietly approaching!

1. Paying for cheats
Scammers post advertisements on social platforms claiming to have cheats for clearing the game, luring victims to trade on fake gaming transaction platforms, WeChat groups, or QQ groups. They trick victims into paying small amounts like 9.9 yuan for cheats or demand various fees under the guise of "registration fees, deposits, or unfreezing fees." Once they receive the money, they block the victim's contact or disappear.

2. Cheats available in a cloud drive for self-retrieval
[1] Usually, scammers add victims as friends on social platforms, claim that many people are asking for the secret guide, and say they have already saved the Word document in a cloud drive. They then send a link and ask the victim to retrieve it themselves, unaware that the scammers use a virus-laden Trojan link to trick game players into clicking, thereby remotely controlling their computers or phones.

[2] 3. Luring players to pay with prize temptations
[3] Take a popular mini-program game from last year as an example. It used misleading ads to make players claim a "100-yuan phone credit coupon" that popped up on the game interface. Many netizens reported on social media that after claiming the so-called "100-yuan phone credit coupon" and paying 9.9 yuan or 19.9 yuan as instructed on the website, they found the credit could not be redeemed and no refund was possible.

[1] The author's perspective
[4] The above scams are relatively common methods, but the crimes these lawbreakers are suspected of committing are not limited to fraud. Although cheating people out of money is often the ultimate goal, as seen in the second case, criminals may even use virus links to infiltrate players' phones or computers, thereby stealing personal information and bank account passwords. This involves violations of personal privacy and financial crimes. Moreover, modern people's phones store almost all kinds of important information. Once this information is leaked or lost, it will inevitably have a huge impact on the owner's life and work.

[5] Therefore, to prevent these situations from happening again, when entertaining and relaxing, one must not let their guard down. Do not click on unknown links, do not answer unfamiliar calls, and never disclose personal information. In the event of any form of fraud, you should report it to the local public security authorities. This not only protects your own rights but also contributes to social stability.
