Case 1: Failure to Follow Government Guidance Prices
Fuqing Leyou Education Training School charged 70 yuan per class hour for classes with fewer than 10 students during offline academic tutoring. This fee exceeded the government guidance price (maximum 55 yuan per 45-minute class hour) set by the Fuzhou Development and Reform Commission and Fuzhou Education Bureau for compulsory education offline academic tutoring. This constituted a violation under Article 9, Item 1 of the Administrative Penalties for Price Violations, which prohibits "setting prices beyond the floating range of government guidance prices," and violated Article 12 of the Price Law.
 
In May 2022, the Fuqing Market Supervision Bureau ordered the institution to cease the violation, refund the overcharged fees to students, and imposed a fine of 10,000 yuan.

[1] Operators engaging in pricing activities shall comply with laws and regulations, and implement government-guided prices, government-set prices, and statutory price intervention measures and emergency measures formulated in accordance with the law.

[4] Lianjiang Hip-Hop New World Cultural Communication Co., Ltd. included in its advertising content false claims such as "Street dance certification, extra points for further education," "Having a high-level certification can qualify for a 20-point reduction below the final simulated admission line for the first batch of undergraduate programs in many universities' high-level art troupes, and some universities even offer 40 points," and "Art subjects are included in the aesthetic education high school entrance exam bonus points, and 6 provinces and 12 cities have already started." These actions were misleading and deceived consumers, violating Article 28, Item (3) of the Advertising Law.
 
[5] In September 2022, the Lianjiang County Market Supervision Administration ordered the party to cease publishing illegal advertisements, eliminate the impact within the corresponding scope, and imposed a fine of 1,080 yuan.

In today's era of intense competition, many parents enroll their children in extracurricular training courses, whether for academic tutoring or developing hobbies. This demand has allowed training institutions to reap substantial profits. However, some training institutions often engage in illegal or non-compliant practices during their operations, such as using prohibited language in advertisements or arbitrarily charging lesson fees. Although extracurricular training is a trend, institutions should not treat parents as lambs to be slaughtered. In daily operations, they must pay attention to proper methods and approaches; otherwise, relevant regulatory authorities will not stand idly by.
 
Additionally, parents should keep their eyes open when choosing training institutions, opting for those with established brands and good reputations. They should not be tempted by low prices to blindly prepay lesson fees, as there are many institutions that collect money and then disappear. Moreover, the quality of children's education also needs to be guaranteed.
