Recently, a video titled "Delivery rider's bike stolen during late-night delivery" spread online, sparking heated discussions among netizens.
Case review
The video shows a woman in a delivery uniform and helmet leaning against a streetlight pole and crying loudly, then sitting on the ground, beating her chest and stamping her feet while wailing.
According to a message from @China Internet Joint Rumor Refutation Platform, the Cyberspace Security Brigade of the Hecheng Branch of Huaihua Public Security Bureau in Hunan verified that the video information is a rumor, fabricated by netizens Zhou, Yang, and Li through a planned and filmed fictional scenario.
Since April 2023, to attract traffic and gain economic benefits, the three individuals posted multiple self-directed and self-performed fake videos on various platforms, including "a mother kicking her daughter on a rainy street," "a motorcycle driver fighting on the street for passengers," and "a daughter dragging her mother in front of a police station, saying she will send her to jail," maliciously spreading rumors and confusing the public.
Zhou, Yang, and Li, suspected of fabricating and publishing false information to disrupt public order, violated relevant provisions of the Public Security Administration Punishments Law of the People's Republic of China and the Cybersecurity Law of the People's Republic of China. They have been administratively detained by the public security authorities.

On July 10 this year, the Cyberspace Administration of China issued the "Notice on Strengthening the Management of Self-Media," which clearly requires standardizing account operation behaviors, restricting profits from illegal activities, and strictly handling violations. Self-media accounts that fabricate and spread rumors, hype up social hot events, or engage in matrix-style dissemination of illegal and harmful information causing severe adverse effects will be shut down, added to the platform's blacklist, and their account databases will be reported to the cyberspace authorities. This shows that as media dissemination speeds up in the new era, China's supervision of media content is becoming increasingly strict. Therefore, once such illegal dissemination activities are discovered, relevant departments must show zero tolerance and impose severe penalties!
