Zhiming Law Firm has been appointed as the only designated environmental rights protection volunteer law firm in the Guangdong region by the China Environmental Protection Federation.

Wang Tengfeng, the principal lawyer of Guangdong Zhiming Law Firm, went to Beijing at the end of November to attend the founding meeting of the China Environmental Protection Federation's Environmental Rights Protection Volunteer Organization. He brought back the organization's shining and weighty certificate, becoming one of the ten national environmental rights protection volunteer law firms and the only volunteer law firm in Guangdong Province.

The China Environmental Protection Federation is a non-profit, nationwide social organization approved by the State Council of the People's Republic of China, registered with the Ministry of Civil Affairs, and supervised by the State Environmental Protection Administration. It is voluntarily formed by individuals, enterprises, and institutions dedicated to environmental protection. The federation is committed to providing various forms of legal assistance for the public's environmental rights protection, safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of citizens, legal persons, and other organizations whose environmental rights have been harmed, and providing assistance to citizens, legal persons, especially vulnerable groups, whose environmental rights have been infringed upon. Assistance methods include investigation and evidence collection, mediation and negotiation, supporting litigation, and aiding appeals. To leverage broader social resources and provide effective relief to victims of environmental pollution and damage through judicial channels, the federation recently established an environmental rights protection legal volunteer organization, primarily composed of law firms and lawyers committed to environmental public welfare, to jointly advance the development of environmental rights protection in China.

Guangdong Zhiming Law Firm was established in March 2000, currently with 33 practicing lawyers. Chief lawyer Wang Tengfeng is a senior legal expert with 23 years of practice, having served as legal counsel for the China (Shenzhen) First International High-Tech Fair, legal assistant to the Shenzhen Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee, and currently as a legal expert for Shenzhen government bid evaluations and a special audit supervisor, as well as legal counsel for multiple industry associations and large enterprises. Under the leadership of Chief Wang, Zhiming Law Firm has long been actively involved in environmental rights public welfare activities, successfully handling multiple cases defending the rights of vulnerable groups affected by environmental violations. After joining the environmental rights legal volunteer organization, Zhiming Law Firm will further advance environmental rights work, recently establishing a free environmental rights legal consultation hotline to provide environmental rights legal services to all sectors of society.
