——Guangdong Zhiming Law Firm Takes Effective Measures to Enhance Competitiveness

Guangdong Zhiming Law Firm, in response to China's WTO accession, the need to adapt to international competition, and to strengthen its competitive edge, has followed the requirements of the judicial administration authorities by expanding office space, improving working conditions, increasing legal staff, and enhancing operational scale. The firm held a relocation and unveiling ceremony at its new premises on July 6, attended by Deputy Director Huang Wu of the Provincial Department of Justice, Vice President Li Guoliang of the Provincial Bar Association, Vice Chairman Wu Jingtian of the Municipal Political Consultative Conference, Director Huang Zhenfen and Deputy Director Shi Gang of the Municipal Bureau of Justice, President Huang Minggen of the Municipal Bar Association, Deputy Director Zhou Rongsheng of the Municipal People's Congress Legal Affairs Committee, and nearly a hundred colleagues from fellow law firms.

To address the challenges and pressures brought by WTO accession to the development of China's legal profession and to enhance competitiveness, Guangdong Zhiming Law Firm has recently adopted a series of effective measures to boost its own competitive edge:

On one hand, the firm successfully relocated to a new site not long ago, expanding office space, greatly improving the working environment, updating office equipment, and enhancing working conditions. The firm has set up a local computer network, created an elegant webpage, and activated ADSL for connection to the international internet.

On the other hand, in order to enhance the overall quality and image of lawyers and meet the needs of professional development after joining the WTO, Zhiming Law Firm has established seven relatively comprehensive business departments, led by the Anti-Dumping Legal Affairs Committee, as well as two groups for business learning and recreational activities, based on the current state of its business development. These measures have not only effectively promoted the rapid growth of Zhiming Law Firm's business but have also further strengthened the collective cohesion and sense of identity among its lawyers, reinforcing the firm's legal culture.
