[Shenzhen Lawyers Association] Lawyers in our city participated in mediating a compensation dispute over a safety accident, earning praise
At the end of June this year, a tourist attraction in our city experienced an accident that resulted in six fatalities. Follow-up work commenced, and by mid-July, compensation issues for three of the victims had been resolved. The other three victims, coming from the same family, had family members who were more emotionally agitated, leaving the compensation issue in a deadlock. On July 19, at the request of the district's Judicial Bureau, Zhiming Law Firm dispatched two experienced lawyers, Li Zhiyong and Zhang Hongliang, to join the government-formed work group to mediate the dispute.
During the mediation, the two lawyers adhered to the principles of fairness and justice, adopted a method combining reason and emotion, leveraged their professional expertise and influence, and carried out work from the following aspects: First, they fully cooperated with the government work group, maintained impartiality and neutrality, identified the focal points of conflict between the two parties, and promptly conducted thorough and meticulous ideological guidance; Second, they utilized their legal expertise to carefully review the accident party's compensation calculation plan, urging them to calculate the compensation amount in accordance with relevant legal provisions; Third, they earnestly addressed the family's proactive inquiries, patiently imparted legal knowledge, and explained the maximum compensation amount they could receive within the legal framework. After multiple rounds of negotiations, both parties eventually reached an agreement.
In the mediation of this dispute, the professional legal opinions, rigorous and meticulous work style, and sincere and friendly attitude of our city's lawyers were highly praised by the district government work group, the district Judicial Bureau, and both parties involved.
