[Shenzhen Bar Association] Exchange between the Municipal Bar Association and Shenzhen International Arbitration Court
On the morning of September 20, a delegation from the Shenzhen Lawyers Association, including President Lin Changchi, Chief Supervisor Wei Hanjiao, Vice Presidents Zhang Cheng, Yin Chenggang, Han Jun, and Wang Tengfeng, as well as Council Members Li Junqiang, He Zhijun, Luo Zhenhui, Gao Wenjie, and Pan Xiang, visited the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration for an exchange. They were received by Liu Xiaochun, President of the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration, Vice President Wang Suli, Xie Weimin, Director of the Case Management Division, An Xin, Director of the General Affairs Division, Zhou Yi, Deputy Director of the Liaison Division, and Chi Wenhui, Secretary of the Liaison Division, who held a discussion with the delegation.
President Liu Xiaochun welcomed the visit of the working team of the Tenth Bar Association and introduced the future development directions of the arbitration institute: first, implementing the home-ground strategy to build “the Chinese home ground for international arbitration and the Shenzhen home ground for Chinese arbitration”; second, building an international arbitration highland to further enhance the internationalization level, international credibility, and international influence of arbitration; third, creating a pure land for the legal profession and striving for fairness and justice.
Supervisor Wei Hanjiao stated that the working bodies of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association share the same goals with the Arbitration Court in their cooperation. He suggested that both parties deepen their collaboration in the following areas: first, maintaining an international perspective and innovative thinking, and giving full play to the role of lawyers in independence, impartiality, fairness, and innovation; second, implementing cooperation plans, refining cooperation details, and building on past cooperation to innovate cooperation methods, broaden cooperation areas, and comprehensively elevate the level and standard of cooperation.
President Lin Changzhi affirmed the professionalism and internationalization of the Shenzhen Court of International Arbitration. He expressed the following hopes: first, that the two parties establish a strategic cooperative relationship and enter into a cooperation agreement to deepen collaboration in areas such as building an information exchange and sharing platform, organizing professional seminars and training, and establishing mechanisms for the selection, appointment, and evaluation of arbitrators; second, that the two parties work together to build and optimize the judicial environment, continuously enhance the influence of arbitration institutions, give full play to the role of arbitration as a dispute resolution mechanism, and remain committed to building and optimizing the judicial environment. The Shenzhen Lawyers Association will also enhance the professional competence of the lawyer community, encourage more Shenzhen lawyers to participate in dispute resolution, and jointly advance the development of the rule of law.
Both sides also discussed issues such as protecting lawyers' rights, expanding legal services, and lawyer training, reaching a consensus on integrating their respective advantageous resources and strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation.
