The first lecture of the "Zhiming Grand Lecture Hall • Hall of Fame," hosted by Guangdong Zhiming Law Firm, grandly commenced on the afternoon of March 20 at Zhiming Law Firm. This lecture featured Mr. Hu Yeqiu, a cultural scholar, renowned writer, and director, as the specially invited keynote speaker. Approximately over 60 participants attended the lecture, including all lawyers, trainee lawyers, and assistants from Zhiming Law Firm, as well as lawyers from peer firms such as Shenzhen Huashang Law Firm, Weiran Law Firm, Xuchen Law Firm, Beijing Yifa (Shenzhen) Law Firm, and Beijing Yingke (Shenzhen) Law Firm, who came specifically to attend.

The lecture, themed "A Cultural Interpretation of the Rule of Law," featured a two-and-a-half-hour speech by Mr. Hu Yeqiu, who demonstrated profound knowledge of both ancient and modern times and seamlessly blended Chinese and Western perspectives with remarkable literary flair. He began by exploring the rise and fall of national culture on the 120th anniversary of the Hundred Days' Reform, and took the development of legal civilization in China and abroad as his main thread, delving into the significance of culture for a society governed by law and for national soft power. Throughout, he interspersed numerous legal elements, including the origins of ancient Chinese legal systems, the distinction between good and bad laws, the concepts of result justice and procedural justice in traditional Chinese legal thought, Western constitutional experience, and the relationship between the rule of law and social moral justice. In conclusion, Mr. Hu Yeqiu fully affirmed the pivotal influence of lawyers in the progress of a law-based society, profoundly stating that "lawyers are like speed bumps on a highway," playing a vital role in "connecting public and private rights" by safeguarding human rights and upholding democracy. Finally, Mr. Hu Yeqiu encouraged lawyers to strengthen cultural confidence and promote the realization of the Chinese Dream of the rule of law. The entire lecture was packed with valuable insights, and the audience listened intently, journeying through the history of Chinese and Western cultures under the master's guidance. In the subsequent forty-minute interactive session, many audience members eagerly engaged in lively Q&A with Mr. Hu Yeqiu and shared their own reflections.
