Zhīmíng Lawyers' Lecture Hall Session 4 of 2018: Training and Case Seminar on the Latest Reply of the Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate Concerning Firearms
In order to enhance the professional capabilities of the firm's practitioners in relevant areas and to conduct case-closing summaries of several major, complex, and difficult cases handled recently, on the afternoon of June 22, lawyers and paralegals of the firm attended a training session and case seminar in the conference room on the latest reply of the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate concerning firearms-related cases.
This training was hosted by senior lawyer Cao Guanghui. Lawyer Cao Guanghui is highly skilled in criminal defense and has conducted extensive research, especially in cases involving firearms, drugs, and organized crime. Based on the latest firearm-related official reply document issued by the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate, Lawyer Cao Guanghui compared several major, difficult, and complex firearm-related cases he handled before and after the issuance of the reply. He explained in detail to the trainees the key points that are decisive for conviction and sentencing in firearm-related cases, such as objective imputation and firearm identification, as well as issues including judges' tendencies in such cases.
During the training, participants raised questions based on issues encountered in their own practice, which were effectively addressed by Lawyer Cao. Participants expressed that the training deepened their understanding of the latest firearms directive from the Supreme Court and Supreme Procuratorate, aiding them in handling similar cases in the future.
