[2] Young idols worth billions, where is the fair value today?
[5] Recently, another scandal in the entertainment industry has been exposed online — young idol Wu Yifan is suspected of "seducing minors," "holding wine parties to select concubines," and "drugging and raping at wine parties." A 19-year-old internet-famous woman named Du Meizhu posted a series of articles on social media, accusing Wu Yifan and demanding that he publicly announce his retirement from the entertainment industry and "return to Canada." "Your past ten years have been exciting enough; ordinary people can't earn two or three billion." "Step forward, be a man (take responsibility — author's note)!" Wu Yifan immediately denied it through his studio, firmly stating, "There has never been selection of concubines, seduction of minors, or involvement with underage girls!" He also hired a lawyer to issue a statement to "refute the rumors."

[1] Online and in public opinion, it has once again become a lively uproar, triggering "victims" such as former SNH48 member Zhang Dansan, Beijing Film Academy student Wei Yuxin, Kris Wu's EXO-era rumored girlfriend Lin Xiya, internet celebrity "You're Not Xiao Zhang," netizens "yyxxy77" and "Anastasia" to speak out or add revelations. For a time, from Beijing to Guangdong, from Pudong to Guangxi, the motherland staged another drama that people eagerly discussed over tea and meals.
[2] Regarding such farces, the author does not wish to investigate nor deign to comment on the truth of the rumors. What the author wants to critique is this: a young "fresh meat" star, relying solely on a handsome face, a youthful image, the ability to dance, sing, talk, pose, and perform, can earn hundreds of millions annually, amassing billions in assets in just over a decade. And this is not unique to Kris Wu. Most "fresh meat" level traffic stars exposed by scandals or rumors have assets in the hundreds of millions or billions. In recent years, exposed traffic stars like Fan Bingbing and Zheng Shuang have primarily relied on their youthful, attractive faces and figures to amass immense wealth! Idol-type traffic stars are mostly skilled in singing, dancing, comedy, and entertaining the masses, thus possessing huge fan bases and audiences spanning all age groups nationwide. The author believes that the love of beauty is universal. After hard work, watching films, TV dramas, and performances by handsome men and beautiful women can indeed relax the mind, please the eye, and delight the spirit. As an essential spiritual nourishment, its benefits are undeniable.

[3] Since the reform and opening up, with the significant growth of national material wealth, the spiritual and cultural life of the Chinese people has been unprecedentedly enriched and developed. Society's investment in the literary and artistic industry has gradually caught up with, and in some areas even surpassed, the development level of Western developed countries. China's performing arts industry is unprecedentedly prosperous, and the entertainment economy ranks among the top in the world! However, the author believes that the literary and artistic industry should play a supporting and coordinating role in national economic construction. Its value lies in regulating and assisting people's thoughts, emotions, and work enthusiasm, promoting patriotism and love for the Party, and inspiring vigorous engagement in work and life. Its existence value is to promote social culture and national development. It should not put the cart before the horse, where performing arts only highlight the glamour of artists while overshadowing or negating the positive significance and value of science, education, industry, agriculture, and national defense!
[4] After Kris Wu's scandal broke, a writer named Xiaohan published a special article on Phoenix Entertainment, arguing that "fan culture is the original sin of idol collapse and disqualification." The author disagrees. Clearly, Xiaohan only sees the surface of the matter and has not grasped the essence of the problem. His comments fail to reach the root!

[5] Recently, the author has watched many revolutionary and patriotic films and TV dramas, feeling immense respect not only for the revolutionary soldiers, workers, and peasants who sacrificed heroically but also for the selfless dedication of revolutionary literary and artistic workers. Whether in the era of revolutionary war or in the construction after the founding of the nation, noble moral sentiments and spiritual outlooks are eternal value orientations that socialist China needs and should promote!
[6] The author recalls that in the 1980s and 1990s, it was widely said that "those who make missiles can't compete with those who sell tea eggs!" This meant that those who went into business were far wealthier than those engaged in scientific research and construction, who lived in poverty and hardship. Now, although the country has completely eradicated absolute poverty and built a moderately prosperous society, the wealth gap between various social strata remains increasingly pronounced. Apart from businesspeople, especially in the entertainment industry, those young "fresh meat" and "little fresh meat" stars, relying mainly on their handsome faces and graceful figures, have all rapidly become wealthy. Such a flow and concentration of social wealth not only leads to a distorted material living situation for social groups but also inevitably breeds incidents that corrupt social customs and harm spiritual civilization and moral standards. In contrast, from older-generation artists like Wang Xingang, Li Moran, Chen Qiang, Zhang Ruifang, Qin Yi, Wang Danfeng, as well as Li Xuejian, Tang Guoqiang, and Siqin Gaowa, we mostly see "virtue and art both esteemed." They are deeply loved by the people nationwide but are by no means, nor have they ever been, traffic stars who rely solely on face and figure to amass immense wealth.
The author believes that it is only natural and beyond reproach for performers to make a living through their acting skills and earn compensation through their labor. However, some so-called "performers" do not rely on genuine talent, a serious and rigorous attitude, fairness and justice, or adherence to moral and legal standards. Instead, they一味 cater to vulgarity with decadence, listlessness, frivolity, and absurdity; they use庸俗 and boredom to win applause and earn money. Such a mindset and direction should obviously not be widely promoted or advocated! Otherwise, if this continues over time, the ideological realm and spiritual values of the nation will inevitably decline. The American imperialists and the West may not even need to rack their brains to策划 hostile propaganda; they can simply sit back and reap the benefits, laughing at the scene.
The author solemnly calls for: It is time to strengthen the ideological education of young literary and artistic workers, and it is time to establish rules and legislation for the social fairness of the performance income standards of "little fresh meat"! The chaos in the entertainment industry truly needs serious rectification! We must no longer allow the younger generation to be misled and harmed into thinking that they can easily make big money just by dancing, singing, talking, and laughing.
The value of life also lies in contributions to society, the country, and the nation!
