Case review
On the evening of June 15, during an international football friendly held at Beijing Workers' Stadium, a fan ran onto the field to hug Messi and high-fived Argentina goalkeeper Martinez, then sprinted across most of the pitch. This caused the match to be interrupted for over a minute before he was escorted away by security. That night, the incident quickly trended on social media.

According to on-site video, the fan eventually returned to the stands and said, "It's nothing, I'm under 18." The fan also stated, "I know this is a very bad behavior. I hope my punishment serves as a starting point to increase security when stars come in the future." "Messi, I'm really sorry. Later, I'll go to Miami to ask for your autograph."

However, there has been no official response yet as to whether the fan will face punishment.

Article 30
If a minor under the age of 14 commits an illegal act, no administrative penalty shall be imposed, and their guardian shall be ordered to discipline them; if a minor who has reached the age of 14 but not the age of 18 commits an illegal act, the administrative penalty shall be mitigated or reduced.

[1] The author's perspective
This fan, excited in the moment, ran onto the field during a break in the game to hug their idol. Although quickly removed from the field, whether the act is considered serious depends on police determination. Beyond defining the act, the fan's age must also be considered. If the fan is a minor, then according to Article 30 of the Administrative Penalty Law, minors aged 14 to 18 who commit illegal acts should receive mitigated or reduced penalties. Considering the nature of the violation and the minor's age, it is more likely that the fan will receive a warning or a fine.

Additionally, it is worth noting that such fanatical behavior by fans is not unprecedented. As early as March 11, 2006, during a match between Chongqing Lifan and Liaoning FC, a 50-year-old fan was sentenced to 10 days of detention and a fine of 500 yuan for illegally jumping onto the field, and was also banned from entering the stadium to watch similar matches for one year. This shows that disrupting a sports event not only risks warnings, fines, or even detention, but may also result in a one-year ban from entering sports venues to watch matches.
