The State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television issued a notice on the 18th, requiring all news organizations to conduct centralized inspections and cleanups of their reporter stations, websites, business departments, and editorial departments, to seriously rectify any existing violations of laws and regulations, to ensure proper oversight of news interviews, to prohibit reporter stations from conducting cross-industry or cross-field interviews and reports, and to prohibit journalists and reporter stations from privately conducting critical reports without the consent of their organizations. The notice also pointed out that all news media should strengthen the review of reports, prohibiting reporter stations and journalists from privately setting up websites, local website channels, special editions, or internal references to publish critical reports; and to strengthen oversight of business activities, prohibiting reporter stations and editorial departments from engaging in improper practices.
