[Shenzhen Lawyers Association] Lawyers from Zhiming Law Firm Conduct Research on Community-Level Mediation Work in Yantian Subdistrict
On April 18, Liang Han, the mediation representative of Zhiming Law Firm stationed in Yantian, and Liang Yaohao, the firm's community legal specialist, conducted mediation and community visits in Yantian to advance grassroots legal construction.
At the People's Mediation Office in Yantian, Representative Liang Han, following the mediation plan instructed by supervising lawyer Liu Jianhua, focused on the main points of conflict between the disputing parties. Based on legal principles and combined with reason and emotion, he gradually eliminated the unreasonable demands of both sides, successfully reducing the conflict to a minimum and facilitating a preliminary settlement agreement.
Specialist Liang Yaohao visited Donghai Community in Yantian Subdistrict to learn about the planning and progress of the Yantian District Government's "Grassroots Law-Based Governance" pilot project in Donghai. He listened to Deputy Station Head He Yurong's introduction of the community's current situation and challenges in people's mediation, and together with Station Head He Yurong, visited the Labor Dispute Mediation Committee of the Shenzhen Yantian Port Truck Transport Industry Union Federation. According to Committee Member Liu Shutong, the union currently has 2 registered container truck drivers, and disputes arise daily over container truck tractor affiliation conflicts, as well as insurance claims from work-related injuries and traffic accidents. Therefore, the union urgently needs professionals with legal expertise to assist in addressing the legal issues arising from these disputes, aiming to resolve as many logistics-related conflicts in the Yantian port area as possible through union mediation at an early stage.
After learning of this request, Wang Tengfeng, director of Zhiming Law Firm, stated that for now, support and assistance can continue to be provided to the mediation work of Donghai Community and the Automobile Workers' Federation in accordance with the public welfare cooperation model of "lawyers entering the community." However, in the long term, issues such as how to effectively strengthen legal support for mediation in Donghai Community and the Automobile Workers' Federation, and how to achieve seamless connection and operational procedures between grassroots mediation by communities and trade unions and the professional mediation of the street-level People's Mediation Committee, need to be promptly reported to the relevant leaders of the street judicial office and the district judicial bureau. This is to ensure that sufficient attention is paid during the planning of the "grassroots governance according to law" project, and to gradually refine and implement the relevant procedural matters.
