[Shenzhen Lawyers Association] The Ninth Meeting of the Eighth Council of the Municipal Lawyers Association was held.
On the morning of June 14, 2013, President Zhang Yong presided over the ninth meeting of the eighth council of the Municipal Bar Association. Vice Presidents Lin Xiaoqing, Zheng Degang, Lin Changchi, and council members Ma Xueping, Zhang Bin, Zhang Sizhu, Wang Tengfeng, Xiao Hanmei, Chen Fang, Zhou Min, Zheng Ma, Hong Qing, Jia Hongwei, Liang Jiangzhou, Han Jun, and Shu Weidong attended the meeting. Deputy Director Yang Shaobin of the Municipal Justice Bureau's Lawyer Management Office was present, and Supervisor Zhang Wenbo and Acting Secretary-General Wang Hong attended as non-voting participants.
Promote the establishment of "green channels" in Futian and Yantian courts. The meeting reviewed and approved the "Report on Promoting the Establishment of 'Green Channels' for Lawyers in the Public Security, Procuratorate, and Court Systems." The report indicated that the Bar Association would push for relevant departments, including the public security, procuratorate, and court systems, to open "green channels" for lawyers to effectively protect their professional rights. The Municipal Bar Association will launch a "one-card" system for lawyers, enabling self-service check-in via card swiping to improve case-handling efficiency and enhance the informatization system of the legal profession. These measures have already received support from the Futian and Yantian district courts, and the Bar Association is currently negotiating details with these courts and related entities. This initiative not only provides practical benefits for lawyers and upholds the profession's dignity but also strengthens communication with public security, procuratorate, and court institutions, safeguards lawyers' rights, elevates the social status of the legal profession, and promotes the construction of a legal practice community.
Plan to purchase critical illness insurance to benefit members. The meeting reviewed and approved the "Plan for Purchasing Critical Illness Insurance for the Shenzhen Legal Profession." The meeting unanimously agreed to purchase critical illness insurance for all lawyers in the city and established a specialized negotiation team led by the president's team. The negotiation team will discuss specific insurance matters with insurance companies and finalize the plan. The meeting also considered that this plan fully reflects the principle of using membership fees for members' benefit, which helps enhance the sense of belonging, cohesion, and risk prevention capability within the legal profession, and further improves the overall welfare level of the Shenzhen legal profession.
Initiate the construction of lawyer integrity in Shenzhen to establish a new image for the profession. The meeting reviewed and approved the "Report on Establishing a Lawyer Integrity File System in Shenzhen." The report indicated that building a comprehensive lawyer integrity system is crucial for enhancing the integrity awareness and reputation constraints of the legal profession in the city and improving the overall quality of lawyers. This measure will raise the professional ethics of lawyers, enhance their social credibility and image, and promote the construction of a social integrity system.
The meeting also reviewed and approved reports including the "Report on Holding the Third 'Shenzhen Young Lawyers Training Program (Real Estate Direction),'" the "Plan for Establishing the 'Shenzhen Qianhai International Lawyers Academy' and the Draft Cooperation Framework Agreement for the Shenzhen Qianhai International Lawyers Academy," the "Report on Adding Members to the Intern Assessment Management Committee," and the "Report on Adding a Deputy Director to the Qianhai Development Strategy Committee."
