[Shenzhen Lawyers Association] The Ninth Meeting of the Eighth Council of the Municipal Lawyers Association was held.
On the morning of June 14, 2013, President Zhang Yong chaired the ninth meeting of the eighth session of the Municipal Lawyers Association Council. Vice Presidents Lin Xiaoqing, Zheng Degang, and Lin Changchi, along with Council Members Ma Xueping, Zhang Bin, Zhang Sizhu, Wang Tengfeng, Xiao Hanmei, Chen Fang, Zhou Min, Zheng Ma, Hong Qing, Jia Hongwei, Liang Jiangzhou, Han Jun, and Shu Weidong attended the meeting. Deputy Director Yang Shaobin of the Lawyers Management Division of the Municipal Justice Bureau attended the meeting. Supervisor Zhang Wenbo and Acting Secretary-General Wang Hong attended the meeting as non-voting participants.
Promote the establishment of "green channels" at the Futian and Yantian courts. The meeting reviewed and approved the Report on Promoting the Establishment of "Green Channels" for Lawyers in the Public Security, Procuratorial, and Court Systems. The report indicates that the Association will promote the establishment of "green channels" for lawyers by public security, procuratorial, court, and other departments citywide that are related to lawyers' practice rights, so as to effectively safeguard lawyers' practice rights. The Shenzhen Lawyers Association will launch a "one-card" system for lawyers, enabling lawyers to self-register by swiping a card, improving lawyers' case-handling efficiency, and enhancing the informatization system of the lawyer profession. The above measures have already gained the support of the Futian District and Yantian District courts. At present, the Shenzhen Lawyers Association is in consultations with the aforementioned courts and relevant units on detailed issues. This move is not only an effort by the Shenzhen Lawyers Association to do practical things for lawyers and win dignity for the profession, but also an important measure to strengthen communication and contact with public security, procuratorial, and court institutions, safeguard lawyers' rights, enhance the social status of the lawyer profession, and promote the building of a legal practice community.
Plan to purchase critical illness insurance to benefit members. The meeting reviewed and approved the "Plan for Purchasing Critical Illness Insurance for the Shenzhen Legal Profession." The meeting unanimously agreed to purchase critical illness insurance for all lawyers in the city and established a specialized negotiation team led by the president's team. The negotiation team will discuss specific insurance matters with insurance companies and finalize the plan. The meeting also considered that this plan fully reflects the principle of using membership fees for members' benefit, which helps enhance the sense of belonging, cohesion, and risk prevention capability within the legal profession, and further improves the overall welfare level of the Shenzhen legal profession.
Initiate the construction of lawyer integrity in Shenzhen to establish a new image for the profession. The meeting reviewed and approved the "Report on Establishing a Lawyer Integrity File System in Shenzhen." The report indicated that building a comprehensive lawyer integrity system is crucial for enhancing the integrity awareness and reputation constraints of the legal profession in the city and improving the overall quality of lawyers. This measure will raise the professional ethics of lawyers, enhance their social credibility and image, and promote the construction of a social integrity system.
The meeting also reviewed and approved the Report on Holding the Third Session of the "Shenzhen Young Lawyers Training Program (Real Estate Practice)", the Establishment Plan for the "Shenzhen Qianhai International Lawyers College" and the Cooperation Framework Agreement of the Shenzhen Qianhai International Lawyers College (Draft), the Report on Supplementing Members of the Intern Assessment and Management Committee, and the Report on Supplementing the Deputy Director of the Qianhai Development Strategy Committee, among other agenda items.
