[Shenzhen Lawyers Association] The Supervisory Board of the Municipal Lawyers Association attended the provincial lawyers association supervisory board chairpersons' joint meeting.
On May 6, 2017, the 2017 Provincial Lawyers Association Supervisors' Joint Meeting, hosted by the Supervisory Board of the Provincial Lawyers Association and co-organized by the Supervisory Board of the Zhongshan Lawyers Association, was held in Zhongshan. Wang Bing, a researcher from the Lawyer Management Division of the Provincial Department of Justice, attended the meeting. About 50 heads and representatives of the supervisory boards of the provincial and municipal lawyers associations participated in the meeting. Wei Hanjiao, Supervisor General of the Municipal Lawyers Association, and Wang Jinsong and Xiao Yinghong, Deputy Supervisors General, attended the meeting on behalf of the Supervisory Board of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association. The meeting was chaired by Wu Bo, Supervisor General of the Provincial Lawyers Association.
Wei Hanjiao, Chairman of the Supervisory Board, and Wang Jinsong, Vice Chairman, briefly introduced the team building, institutional development, and operational status of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association Supervisory Board and its three subcommittees. They also exchanged and discussed topics such as how to motivate non-supervisory committee members, enhance detailed assessment efforts, and more broadly listen to representatives' opinions and suggestions with the attendees.
Researcher Wang Bing fully affirmed the experience, practices, and oversight achievements of the Lawyers Association's Supervisory Board, and put forward several suggestions: First, based on the current situation and centered on comprehensively advancing the rule of law, strengthen theoretical study, earnestly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions on Guangdong's work, and further promote the development of the lawyer profession and the association's construction in our province; Second, take responsibility as the core, perform duties diligently, responsibly, and with integrity, effectively strengthen industry oversight, and hold the “last line of defense” in the Lawyers Association's work; Third, be problem-oriented, grasp the key points of oversight work, clarify role positioning and oversight responsibilities, and fully leverage the Supervisory Board's due oversight role.
Chairman Wu Bo stated that this meeting further strengthened the connection among provincial lawyers association supervisory boards, helping to jointly promote the development of supervisory board work. In the next step, the Provincial Lawyers Association Supervisory Board will further explore the establishment of a regular liaison mechanism between provincial and municipal lawyers association supervisory boards, continuously advancing the province's lawyer industry supervision work to achieve new results and reach new heights.
