On the afternoon of October 23, 2018, the City Lawyers Association held a symposium for former presidents. Attendees included Chen Ye, the first and second president of the City Lawyers Association; Huang Minggen, the third president; Xu Jian, the fourth president; Zhang Yong, the eighth president; Gao Shu, the ninth president; as well as Jiang Xilin, Director of the City Justice Bureau; Lin Changchi, current president of the City Lawyers Association; Vice Presidents Zeng Mai and Wang Tengfeng; Secretary-General Li Tongbao; and Director Gao Liming.

Carry out the blueprint to the end, one term after another. President Lin Changchi introduced the key work of this term to former presidents: first, successfully hosting the 10th China Lawyers Forum; second, convening two lawyers' congresses and amending the association's charter twice, adding content on industry party building; third, establishing the Shenzhen Lawyers College and the Shenzhen Lawyers Party School, which, with strong support from the Municipal Bureau of Justice, Nanshan District Committee and Government, and Nanshan District Bureau of Justice, will be located in Nanshan and aim to start operations this year; fourth, building a joint development platform for small and medium-sized law firms to support their growth; fifth, launching a training program for leading foreign-related talents (reserve talents) in Shenzhen to cultivate a group of foreign-related legal professionals matching the city's characteristics; sixth, using the joint meeting of public security, procuratorate, court, justice, security, and lawyers to address issues such as difficulties in lawyer meetings; seventh, continuing to advance informatization and seeking support from the Municipal Bureau of Justice to build an information platform; eighth, seeking support from the Municipal Party Committee and Government to formulate a systematic set of policies supporting the legal profession, including fiscal and tax measures; ninth, promoting reforms in the secretariat to make it an executor, think tank, engine, lubricant, and propaganda team, better serving all lawyer members in the city; tenth, organizing a commemorative gala for the 30th anniversary of the Municipal Lawyers Association to review and summarize the 30-year development of the association and lawyers' work.
 

The former presidents fully affirmed the work achievements of this term since its establishment, hoping that this term will continue to innovate in promoting the construction of a legal professional community, advancing the introduction of lawyer support policies, professional training of legal talents, and industry self-discipline management, to rebuild the Shenzhen lawyer brand and promote steady industry development.

Director Jiang Xilin stated that this year marks the 30th anniversary of the Municipal Lawyers Association. Over the past 30 years, the Shenzhen legal profession has grown and expanded with the spring breeze of reform and opening up, with business volumes rising year after year, making outstanding contributions to the stable development of the economy and society. The achievements of the Shenzhen legal profession today are the accumulation of successive association leaderships, inseparable from the hard work of former presidents. The Bureau of Justice, as a strong backing and support department for the legal profession, will continue to provide support for industry development, helping Shenzhen lawyers achieve new breakthroughs and jointly work to strengthen, optimize, and expand the Shenzhen legal profession.
