[Shenzhen Lawyers Association] Provincial and Municipal Lawyers Associations Jointly Host Forum on Litigation Methods and Innovative Thinking
On the morning of December 3, the "Forum on Litigation Methods and Litigation Thinking Innovation in the Context of Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, and Cloud Computing," co-hosted by the Shenzhen Lawyers Association and the Guangdong Lawyers Association, and jointly organized by the Shenzhen Lawyers Association Training Committee and the Guangdong Lawyers Association Youth Work Committee, was held at the Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School. Attendees included Jiang Xilin, Director of the Shenzhen Municipal Bureau of Justice; Tong Xin, Vice President of the Guangdong Lawyers Association; Wei Hanjiao, Supervisor of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association; Wang Tengfeng, Deputy Supervisor of the Guangdong Lawyers Association and Vice President of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association; and Zeng Mai, Vice President of the Shenzhen Lawyers Association. Professors Zhang Weiping from Tsinghua University Law School, Chen Ruihua from Peking University Law School, and Zhou Youyong, Vice President of Southeast University, were invited to deliver speeches at the forum, which was attended by approximately 400 lawyers from across the province.
With the advent of the era of artificial intelligence, how litigation lawyers can adapt to the development of information technology and how traditional legal services can keep pace with the changing times are issues of great concern to the legal profession. Therefore, this forum, themed on innovation in litigation methods and litigation thinking, aims to help lawyers break free from traditional thinking, enhance their professional skills to cope with the information age, and strive to improve their ability to serve society. To highlight the quality of the forum and reflect both academic and practical aspects, the organizers specially invited three highly esteemed legal scholars in the fields of civil procedure law, criminal procedure law, and administrative law in China to attend and deliver keynote speeches. Professors Zhang Weiping, Chen Ruihua, and Zhou Youyong each presented speeches based on their respective academic fields, combining the latest research findings, focusing on hot and difficult issues in current legal practice, and sharing cutting-edge legal perspectives with the audience. Professor Zhang Weiping, in his speech titled "The Perfect Lawsuit," focused on presenting new concepts of civil legal services from the perspectives of public interest litigation, class actions, and the differing thinking between civil and criminal litigation. Professor Chen Ruihua, in his speech titled "Trends in Criminal Defense," analyzed the current bottlenecks in criminal defense practice and offered positive suggestions on modularizing criminal legal services and innovating criminal case representation. Professor Zhou Youyong, in his speech titled "Application Techniques of Administrative Law Principles in Litigation," conveyed new thinking and methods for administrative litigation legal services to the attending lawyers. The participating lawyers also engaged in interactive exchanges with the three legal scholars on topics such as the opportunities and challenges for lawyers in the context of artificial intelligence.
