"Citizen v. Government" case of agency's illegal land acquisition and massive infringement compensation

In 2000, attorney Zhiming represented Mr. Guan, a fruit orchard contractor, in a "citizen suing the government" case against the Longgang Land Bureau for illegal land expropriation and substantial infringement compensation, which was successfully accepted by the Longgang District People's Court. After years of奔波 and numerous petitions and complaints that had gone nowhere, Mr. Guan finally found a venue to seek justice in this marathon dispute. Many provincial and municipal media outlets provided public support, leading the Land Bureau to issue a second compensation of 680,000 yuan on top of the initial compensation of over 600,000 yuan.
